“Why doesn’t a crane tip over?”, “Is it okay to lie?”, “What is a decontamination shower?” – The “Checker” finds the answers to questions on all sorts of topics from space travel and plastics to love and death. In this TV format, the checkers go on adventures, pester experts with questions and try out as many things as possible. The shows are informative, entertaining and above all funny. Tobias Krell says, “We learn best when we laugh.”

Explaining things in a way that children can easily understand, and hopefully remember, is always a challenge – but that’s what we’re good at and what we love doing. We don’t shy away from any topic. We believe children will be interested in anything if you introduce them to the topic properly, and there is hardly anything you can’t explain to them.

“Das Checker-Format” is one of the best-known and most popular children’s edutainment programmes on German television. Its market share in the target group of 3 to 13-year-olds averages 20 percent. The YouTube channel “Checker Welt” has about 450,000 subscribers and the most popular episodes have more than 8 million views.

The Bavarian Television Award, EMIL, the Weiße Elefant, the Robert Geisendörfer Award, a nomination for the Grimme Award, Prix Jeunesse finalist and many more – the edutainment series has received numerous accolades.
